On Sunday, September 18th, a group of Taijiquan and Qigong practitioners and enthusiasts gathered at the UPR Botanical Garden to practice Qigong and share the Qi. It was a huge success, everyone participated of the 3 different workshops offered by Shifu Ismael Santiago, Shifu Joseph Esteves, and Master Graciela Ferretti.
On Saturday, April 30th, 2005 we will be celebrating the World Tai Chi & Qigong Day at the “Pabellón de la Paz” in the “Luis Muñoz Rivera” Park in
Several medical studies have shown that the practice of Tai Chi and Qigong stimulate the immunologic system, slows the aging process, regulates the blood pressure and reduces levels of anxiety and depression. Furthermore, the practice of Tai Chi greatly improves balance and coordination, helping to reduce the incidence of falls amongst the elderly.
The Tai Chi and Internal Arts Association of Puerto Rico (ATCAIPR) invites the public in general to participate in this free event on Saturday, April 30th, 2005 at the “Pabellón de la Paz” from 9:00am. By celebrating World Tai Chi & Qigong Day here in PR, we will be joining over 200,000 people in 60 nations throughout the World that will be practicing Tai Chi and Qigong at the same time that day.

Nacido en la ciudad de Nueva York en el 1951, comenzó su entrenamiento en las Artes Marciales practicando Karate Shotokan con el Sensei Monroe Marrow a los 17 años de edad. Durante su juventud, se mudó en varias ocasiones entre Nueva York, Florida y Puerto Rico. Finalmente se estableció en PR en el 1978. A los 39 años de edad comenzó a entrenar en el Tai Chi Chuan, estilo Yang con el Sifu Julio Pérez, luego estudió armas y formas en el estilo Chen de Tai Chi Chuan con Sifu Humberto Pomales antes de comenzar a estudiar el estilo Yang de Tai Chi Chuan con el Maestro Diego Rivera. Actualmente estudia el estilo Golden Flower de la familia Yang de Tai Chi Chuan con el Maestro San Gee Tam y el Gran Maestro Dong Zeng Chen.
En el 2004 fundo el Tai Chi & Chi Kung Institute en Bayamón, PR.
On May 2005 he founded the Zen & Kungfu Institute in Trujillo Alto, PR.
Qigong teacher & intuitive healer
Graziela is an internationally renowned Qigong practitioner and intuitive healer from
Emma Livia Mangual started studying and practicing Taijiquan in May 1994 under the guidance of Sifu Humberto Pomales at the Chen Style Taijiquan Research Center of Puerto Rico. She became a Certified Instructor of this school in 2002. In addition to her formal training under the guidance of Sifu Pomales, she has attended several taiji and push hands workshops taught by renowned Masters including Chen Style Grandmaster, Chen Xiaowang. In 1999, she organized the first World Tai Chi & Qigong Day event in Puerto Rico that brought together Taijiquan instructors of all major styles to share their art with the general public, and the media. In addition to practicing Chen Style Xinyi Hunyuan Taijiquan, she is a Certified Instructor of Dr. Paul Lam’s Tai Chi for Arthritis© program since November 2000.
